Industrial Chic Wedding at Sixteen oh Three

I’m so excited to showcase this wedding! I’m super fond of these two, and their wedding is certainly one to remember. Colton and Mandy got married at Sixteen oh Three in Bismarck, ND. May in North Dakota is a little hit or miss, and it was rainy and chilly. Mandy and Colton didn’t mind, and I would say that we made the most of it! Mandy didn’t miss a thing as far as planning goes. The decor was whimsical and fresh with a cool industrial vibe. I think exposed brick, twinkle lights, and doughnuts are a good combination on any day. These high school sweethearts had one of the most amazing days I’ve seen. This family means a lot to me and I was honored to spend the whole day with them. Happy anniversary you two! I know you have many perfect years to come.

Amanda+Ryan {Minot, ND} Colorado Wedding and Elopement Photographer

Amanda & Ryan were my last couple of the 2018 season and it was a perfect wedding to end the year with. They got ready at Ryan’s grandparent’s house in Burlington, and it was an ideal location. The surrounding land was great for photos, and the hunting cabin was fun for the guys to hang out in while we did the first look and couple photos. The first look is one of my favorite parts of the entire day, and theirs was very emotional. These two are so sweet together! They love the Minnesota Wild, dogs, and their family; we got along very well. They recited their own personalized vows, which were so heartfelt; yet, they both have a great sense of humor. Ryan proposed to Amanda with a pair of pink Crocs, so we had to include them in a few photos for fun. I am a big fan of Amanda’s bridal style (that veil!) and all of the stylish little details these two managed to tie into their gorgeous day. Looking back on these photos of their perfect wedding is a nice little pick me up! Congrats again Mr. and Mrs. Wolf!

Tate+Sarah {Richardton, ND} Colorado Wedding and Elopement Photographer

I think Sarah & Tate’s late summer wedding is the closest I’ll ever come to a royal wedding. This fun and classy couple got married at Assumption Abbey in Richardton, ND (teeny tiny town!) It is the most gorgeous church I’ve been in, and I could have wandered around in there for hours. There are people that visit Richardton just to tour it. The architecture is amazing and made searching for photo locations fun; a venue like this enhances a wedding so much. The Abbey holds a lot of meaning for Sarah, Tate, and their families. I enjoy when couples acknowledge tradition within their families and tie in special details. It was an emotional day for everyone involved. They’re all pretty tight-knit; Tate’s dad was even his best man, which was super cool! The reception was just as awesome as the ceremony, with good food and atmosphere. The speeches given were engaging, especially the ones given by the dads-I always appreciate a good father of the groom/bride speech. Overall it was a gorgeous, perfect day. Thanks again for having me, Mr. & Mrs. Messmer!

Matt+Erin {Minot, ND} Colorado Wedding & Elopement Photographer

This wedding had everything, and it was honestly so fun to revisit it! There was confetti, acrobatics, a customized flag, a punny gift for Matt from his brothers-in-law, a cop car, a rambunctious wedding party, and of course, tons of romance. Erin had amazing bride style, so of course the decor was on point as well at her dress. Matt & Erin have limitless enthusiasm and it was infectious all day long. My favorite moments of the day were when Matt saw Erin walking down the aisle towards him, and then borrowing a cop car at the end of the night. MAGICAL. I don’t really like saying “magical,” but it was. It was such a meaningful and romantic way to end the evening (Matt’s a police officer), and I think they will always be some of my favorite images. These two are an amazing and hilarious couple, and I enjoyed working with them so much!

Paige+Derek {Clear Lake, IA} Colorado Wedding & Elopement Photographer

One of my favorite weddings with some of my favorite people is finally blogged! It was really hard to only pick a few images to post. Derek and Paige tied the knot in Clear Lake and Garner, Iowa. I’d never been to Iowa before, so I was looking forward to exploring a new place. We almost got sucked up by a tornado on our way there, so I don’t know if I’ll visit again, but this wedding was amazing! The reception took place at a chic venue called Diamond Oak Events. There was even a cute little trolley that we were able to ride around in. Every detail was in place and styled to perfection. Paige was even able to incorporate some firefighting details for Derek, and it worked seamlessly with the other decor. It was awesome to work with a group of goofy friends all day long. The entire day was full of lots of laughs, love, and happy tears. I love looking back on this gorgeous summer wedding of one of my favorite couples. Till our next meet-up, Mr. & Mrs. Fladland!

Epic, Snowy Wedding in Bottineau, North Dakota {Colorado Wedding & Elopement Photographer) Chelsey+Matt

So, Matt & Chelsey had a November wedding, and the weather decided to throw us a bit of a curveball. It was maybe 20 degrees and everything was covered in snow! They took everything in stride and completed outdoor photos like absolute champs. They embraced a whimsical yet classy theme for the day, and everything looked gorgeous! I Do Balloons out of Minot, ND styled their reception space, which looked magical. I am so happy Chelsey & Matt picked me to spend their blissful day with them. Congrats again to Mr & Mrs. Norby!

Whitney+Brad's stylish & romantic engagement shoot {Voss, ND} Colorado Wedding Photographer

One of the prettiest shoots ever, I swear. I did my sister’s engagement and family photos last April and have been sharing them slowly over time, and finally decided to just blog SOME of my favorites. It was hard to choose just a few. I’ll never stop loving these photos! We took them back where Whitney and I grew up, which is one of our favorite places in the whole world, and that makes these even better. We also had the most gorgeous sunset-that always helps too. All-around perfect!

Devan+Courtney's laid-back celebration {Moorhead, MN} Colorado Wedding Photographer

Courtney & Devan’s wedding was so chill. I would work with them again and again and again…plus, they’re family, which made it even better! They’re such a laid-back couple that even if the day hadn’t gone perfectly, they wouldn’t have cared. They got married June 22nd, 2018 at Rustic Oaks in Moorhead, MN-a perfect venue choice for these cool kids. Olive Branch Botany created the gorgeous florals. Spitfire from Fargo, ND catered, so I was a happy camper since they’re a favorite of mine too! Some other highlights: TWO wedding dresses (both ahhhmazing-Courtney used to work at Alan Evans Bridal in Moorhead), a fly-away veil, an emotional mother-son dance, a memorable maid of honor speech from Courtney’s sister Bailee, and an erratic golf cart ride from yours truly. All in all, it was a pretty spectacular day, and one of my favorites from 2018. Thanks again for choosing me as your photographer and congrats again Mr. & Mrs. Schuler!

Parker+Kassy's rustic celebration {Jamestown, North Dakota} Colorado Wedding Photographer

Kassy & Parker had the most perfect western-chic wedding in June 2017 and it was a hot one! Well, they’re a hot couple and it was like a thousand degrees outside. It took place outdoors at the Frontier Village and Gladstone Inn in Jamestown, ND. It was the perfect setting for their style. These two are such a kind, down-to-earth couple and ridiculously photogenic couple; it was a dream working with them and their family and friends as well! It was an awesome day overall and is honestly a favorite of mine to look back on. Congrats again Mr. and Mrs. Lipetzky!

Intimate Yampa Botanic Gardens Wedding {Colorado Wedding & Elopement Photographer} Madi+Ryan

Oooooh Madi and Ryan, I put off blogging long enough!  I could blame it on baby Archer, but we all know I hate blogging.  It's mostly because I don't know what to say or where to start.

Well, I love this couple so much!  They are good friends of my husband and mine, and they are some of the most light-hearted, goofy, adventurous people I know.  They just want to ride their bikes down every trail and explore with Piper-dog (their French Bulldog child, who you will see shortly).  I had the privilege to watch their love story grow from the day Ryan proposed to when they said their vows.

I've never been so excited for a wedding!  The ceremony was on June 24th, 2017 at the Yampa Botanical Gardens in Steamboat Springs, Colorado, which is Madi's hometown.  It is such a gorgeous area and I can honestly say I fell in love with Colorado!  They had a unique circular setup for the ceremony space with a background of the pond, trees and rolling hills.  The reception took place at the Art Depot in Steamboat Springs next to the Yampa River.  Their personality came through in every detail throughout the day.  These two are so cool that they were even game to hike up Fish Creek Falls for photos after the reception.  All in all, it was a pretty amazing day for these two lovebirds and I am grateful to have been a part of their new adventure.  Congrats again Mr. and Mrs. Nagel, love you!
